The popular 343 bus, which runs from London Bridge to New Cross, via Peckham Rye, is set to become more reliable and more frequent.

Transport for London have now completed a consultation on the route and after continued pressure on them from the local Lib Dem Focus team, TfL have agreed to increase the morning peak frequency, and are also considering further peak frequency increases later on.

The reliability of this bus at peak times is currently unacceptable, so we think that this is great news for people living along the 343’s route. It will make rush hour journeys into Elephant & Castle and London Bridge that much easier.

It’s also a good sign for our campaign to extend the 63 – it shows that enough people lobby TfL then change is achievable.
